TRAIL CONDITIONS - 18 Sept 2017

Dolen Machno (Loop 1)
- there's a diversion around Man a man a mwnci (1.9). This is a felling diversion so there will be large machinery in operation throughout the next few months. PLEASE do not attempt to ride this section - just follow the diversion into Gwel y grib.

Dolen Eryr (Loop 2) - there is a diversion around the start of Fedw Deg on due to broken boardwalk. Please follow the signs - it's not a big diversion and will drop you back on the singletrack halfway along Fedw Deg.

We'll post clearing/repairing updates here and on Facebook .

NEWS

TRAILHEAD CAR PARK RESURFACING
On Tues 19th & Wed 20th Sept the trailhead car park is being resurfaced (big thanks to NRW!), so parking/access will be restricted. Please park at the bottom of the car park (near the road), or wherever directed by the contractors. Thank you!

NEW SIGNS AND MAPS - 28 April 2017
The Trail Pixies have been out again, this time putting the new section names and map boards out. A big thanks to NRW for supplying the boards and maps. Hopefully the trails will be even easier to follow now!
You can download a map here.

LOOP 1 DIVERSION - LOOP 2 CLOSED - 10 MARCH 2017
Thanks to the chainsaw crew loop 1 is pretty much clear - there's a diversion around Craig Wen & a go-slow section on Tyddyn Du due to trail damage (tree related). Loop 2 has around 30 trees on it that are pretty much impassable, so it's currently closed.
Download a map of the diversion, go-slow and fallens trees here.
We will keep you updated here and on Facebook (check out the on FB to see the damage!).

TRAIL DIVERSION LOOP 2- FEBRUARY 2017
There's a diversion around Fedw Deg on Loop 2, due to broken boardwalk (looks like offroaders - grrr). We're in the process of repairing it and will post here and on Facebook when it's complete. In the meantime please follow the diversion (along the forest track that parallels that section).

PENMACHNO ENDURO - 6 SEPTEMBER 2015
Because of the huge success of last years enduro (blue skies, dry trails, no midges), we're hosting our second enduro in September :-D
This 3 stage Enduro will feature the best of the Penmachno singletrack (if you raced last year you'll be pleased to know that stage 1 will be different!). Last year's event was great fun - it attracted over 250 riders, many of them die hard Penmachno fans. It's a great mix of racing and socialising - as you race in groups you get to chat about bike parts as you spin between stages, then get your race face before you drop into each stage!
We’re also hoping to be able to offer some ‘entertainment’ on Saturday night - we'll post more details as soon as they have been confirmed.

ENDURO FAQ (what bikers have been asking us on Facebook):
What sort of Enduro is it?
When we say enduro, we mean 3 predominantly 'downhill' stages that are individually timed (rather than a cross-country style enduro).
Did you say 'downhill'?
Yes, but this is Penmachno 'downhill' rather than Stiniog downhill! Nothing steeper than the usual Penmachno singletrack!
Does that mean we're racing uphill ?!
No, the stages may include very short sections of up, but will be predominantly downhill.
I don't fancy racing, is it still worth coming?
We're hoping to have a bit of entertainment on Saturday night, and loop 2 will be open. Watch this space for more details.
Is it enduro or is it soooo enduro?
Neither. It's free range enduro. And if you don't know what that is then you're clearly not enduro.
I have a non-biking partner, should I bring them?
If you have a non-biking partner we recommend that you upgrade to a bike-friendly version at the earliest opportunity.
What if I'm faster than you?
That will never happen.
